HelloScience won Sustainary’s 2019 SDG Tech Award for Partnerships. Since then Sustainary highlighted other key sustainability solutions in Denmark and encouraged stakeholders to implement them.
Human Shojaee, Founder & President of Sustainary shares some of the outcomes from this years’ SDG Tech Awards and Green Impact Week held this month.
Sustainary is a non-profit organisation that was founded two years ago, connecting dots and building solution systems in sustainability, and establishing itself as a global green transition platform.
What is great about Sustainary is that it exists in different Universes. These include the SDG Tech Awards, the ultimate celebration of sustainability initiatives in Denmark, and previous winners include HelloScience.
Although postponed due to the Covid-19, the 2020 Awards finally took place in October as part of Green Impact Week. The whole week was aimed at bringing together all players in the sustainability and impact sectors, strengthen the sustainable ecosystem in Denmark and linking to similar ecosystems globally.
Despite all the restrictions and strict rules on organising physical events, we hosted more 60 events virtually, with support from among others DISIE and Creative Business Cup, the European Commission, Vaekstfonde, Danmarks Grønne Investeringsfond and CLEAN.
One positive from virtual events is that all content is now available in our library and panel talks, pitches and presentations can all be reviewed, as the real action after the event begins. We are already setting up a Green Mentoring Programme and are looking ahead to Green Impact Week in the autumn of 2021.
It is important to keep in mind that it is not one innovation or technology that will solve the problems of our society, but the collection and combination of those. That is why we are grateful to have other platforms like us, such as HelloScience, supporting sustainability initiatives.
